Do You Do Anything to Look After Your Brain? What Are Some Things You Could Do?


Do you do anything to look after your brain? What are some things you could do? 120-150 words.  Happy Writing!

    I don't usually do exercise to keep my brain trained, like crosswords, puzzles or brain teasers. The only things that i do are read and write. I think that these activities are the best for me and for my future career. Reading books and artichles help you to improve your vocaboulary and your culture. It also help you to stimulate your fantasy and imagination. Conversely writing gives you not only brain benefits(same benefits of reading) but also body benefits, because the process of writing is the translation of thoght in words, so this process can help the people expressing them selves. Another benefit of writing is the reorganization of the feeling. Write could help the people to understand their emotions and give vent to all the feelings that the people keep in their body. In conclusion, keep the mind and the body in training is the secret of long life, like the ancient Romans people used to say "Mens sana in corpore sano" or rather "Healthy brain in a healthy body".

    When I have free time I like solving some quiz or problems, playing crossword or board games. I like it because I can enjoy a moment with my friend and also I could learn a lot of things. Basically, speak with the people is also an action where I can train my brain, especially in this period because I’m trying to learn a new language; I’m proofing to do everything (speak in English as much as possible, read a lot of articles and write unknown words in a notebook just to memorize). It's really weird because sometimes when I don't know the word, search a synonym (in my mind) or the best way to say a correct word. Don’t forget that the “classic” and “old” book is one of the best way for training our brain. All the people when read a book can imagine whatever they want, and this is a way for our brain to be active. In conclusion I think that every day we should do something. Training the brain is fantastic, all of us are proud of ourselves when we can solve a problem(and think that we are BIG HEADED).

I usually watch american movie with englsih subtitles which helps look after my brain because I have to translate english and understand the story of the movie at the same time while I watch the movie Also, I work out regularly in the gym which helps keep my mind clear and learn more things. Its also important to eat healthy food to keep your brain and your body energized. In addition when I drive my car I have to use my brain because I like speeding on a highway and I have to calculate the distance between a car to cut a car off and I have to concentrate to slow my car down when police show up.

    When I was in high school, my teachers used to tell us that we should do crosswords, puzzles and scrambled letters before studying, because it gives us the require concentration to meet expectations. Definitively I agree with that recommendation and that form to train your brain. I think that another way to keep an active brain and maintain the focus is display pictures. This process is known as photographic memory that helps create memories and improve our skills. In fact, people are able to remember pictures much better than sentences or texts. In my case, there are two things that help me to improve my concentration abilities: solve sudokus and the seven differences on newspaper. However the most important thing is that every person wants to learn and keeps training. The way has to be chosen by each one, but never stop training.

  6. To look after my brain, I often try to do 2 things. The one is to recall what I ate last. If you have the right kind of food; not snacks or coke only, it isn't as easy as it seems. Because you must recall all things to put in your mouth. When you had salad, fried egg, two pieces of breads with butter and marmalade and apricot jam, fruit, milk in the morning, are you able to recall these foods correctly?
    The other is to use my hands. It means to try not to rely on technology. Of course I use the mobile phone and other devices, and usually I prefer to use them. But If I type something that I have to remember just on screen, I cannot recall it at a crucial moment. For example, When I was a highschool student, I always typed the words included "Kanji(漢字)" in my mobile phone to chat my friends and take a note. Then I took the spell test that was both English and Japanese and I forgot how to write the words correctly. Because English isn't my mother tongue and I didn't use as usual. Moreover, Japanese test often uses spell check which exams "Kanji" spelling and it is sometimes hard for even Japanese people. Finally, I reflected on the mistakes and learned what is the best way for me to remember something. I think "to remember something" is very similar "to look after my brain".

  7. Exercise your muscles as well as your brain. Do you agree with this statement? I do. People don't usually know this, but if your organism don't receive continuously stimulation he regresses. Before we be conscious human beings inside a crazy world, we are one specie into the 'jungle', and your body was built in order to disseminate across the earth. Therefore, he was designated to save energy as much as he can to reproduce our species, so if you think that maintain large and strong muscles, high usability of a brain are easy tasks to your body, you're totally wrong. He won't maintain more than the necessary to increase the population if you don't exercise.

    Human bodies are one of the greatest machines that exist in the world and he will keep you alive with all his abilities. Then, you may are asking yourself right now: If my body doesn't need too much to keep alive, why we learn everyday many things? Humans are able to speak, to think and do many other actions that others species don't are capable. So, in my opinion, we do that we do for the next generations to increase the evolutionism and their experiences as humans. Moreover, we need to be selfish and enjoy ours life, and to enjoy the pleasures that it has been offered to us.

    I can say many things that are good to look after my brain, as eat health food, have good time sleeping and read a book. However, personally, I love to exercise muscles and mind, and if I can do together it sounds perfect to me. I practice basketball as much as I can because it's a sport that requires all of my body, and you can't be a great player if you only use your muscles or your mind. Challenges excite me, even in a simple crosswords I try to do my best. Frankly, I love board games like 'War', 'Sherlock Holmes' or card games because it really force you to use your brain. Finally, the key to have a wonderful mind is don't live stressed and look for happiness in what you want to do for your life always.

Usually I play games for improve my memory and logical skills, like puzzles, chess this kind of things, I like learn new and harder things each time that I learn something I try to go to the next level. Also I don't concentrate my self' in just one skills iI like to learn differents topics, music play an instrument, design, math, programming, art, reading, writing languages and so on, trying to stimulate each part of my brain and increase my skills. I also think that the sport is necessary for keep a health brain due to your brain needs oxygen each time that you do sport your blood is cleaned and get a better level of oxigen.
